The Best All Rounder From Pakistan Cricket Team - Sports - Other Sports

As the game of cricket evolved, it became imperative for every team to have within their ranks at least one all-rounder who was bankable with the ball and bat. In the beginning of 1980s the world saw every cricketing nation trying to develop a player whose abilities as an all-rounder would help them add an aggressive flavor to their playing style.

Although Pakistan cricket team has had a number of talented all-round cricketers in the recent years like Shahid Afridi, Abdur Razzaq and Azhar Mehmood to name a few but they all drew inspirations from the two maestros which we were lucky to have had in the likes of Imran Khan and Wasim Akram, both well established all-round cricketers to have been playing for the country during the beginning of the 90s. One for his never say never attitude and the other for his sheer natural talent were an unbiased spectators delight.

It would be difficult for anyone to compare the two since both of them had significant impact not only on the Pakistani cricket team but on the cricketing fraternity on the whole.

However, comparing the careers of these supreme all-rounders and their contribution to the history of Pakistani cricket team, Imran khan has a slight edge over Wasim Akram simply because the era in which he played majority of his cricket, the world was only a specialists game and more so because he had to work extremely hard to polish his skills and eventually reign over the world.

We all still seem to be under a spell and can probably never thank enough for the inspirational leadership which led to our one and only world cup trophy in 1992 and that would never have been possible if it was not for Imrans consistent performance with the bat and the ball.
